Olivia Penpraze.
19 years old.
Died from a Suicide attempt that left her brain dead. Her parents made the hardest decision of their lives by turning off her life support.
She had a Tumblr account with over 900 posts sharing her emotional turmoil, dealings with depression, loneliness & thoughts about her wanting to take her own life.
The only response she got, was insensitive assholes, like the majority of people on Tumblr, encouraging her to do it. She was bullied consistently.
Olivia attempted to kill herself every year in May 1st since 2008.In May 2012, her short life came to an end.
I know most people can’t tolerate posts like Olivia’s, whom find it attention seeking.
My point to you people is…EXACTLY!!
Of course it’s attention seeking what else it?! People share that part of themselves over the Internet because they obviously feel they can’t talk to anyone they know nor do they think anyone would care.
All I want is for people to cut out the bullying & talk to people like Olivia.
A conversation to someone in desperation could save their life.If people can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

i will not *respect* anti-gay bigotry because it is part of someone’s “beliefs”. if someone is a hateful asshole, they don’t get my respect. period.

This is exactly what I’ve been trying to say. The law, a person’s inalienable rights, does not require me to respect you. It’s not because I don’t respect freedom of speech, it’s because you’re a dickwad.
Nowhere does it say that you must respect someone else’s beliefs.
You must respect someone’s right to have and express those beliefs. THAT is what free speech is. You can’t curtail someone’s right to speak their mind, nor can you attack their right to think what they want.
The beliefs themselves? Those are fair game. Those, you absolutely do not have to respect, agree with, or tolerate in silence.
Free speech does not mean freedom from response or judgment.
Dear Insecurities,
Our relationship has come to an end.
I am not really good at breakups so I think it would be best if I kept it frank with you.
We have been acquainted for quite a while now so I know it is going to take a bit of effort and time on my part to eliminate you completely from my life or at least minimize your existence, but I am willing to work at it.
This was not a sudden decision by the way. For the past few years I have lost a great deal of my joy and missed out on so many great experiences because of our relationship… and I’m tired of it. It has to end. I know there are some great things out there that I want to be a part of and I can’t do any of it with you constantly making me feel ugly and timid.
When you’re not around I feel like a beautiful, bright woman who has so many other wonderful qualities to offer the world. But as soon as you enter the room all of those wonderful feelings start going away and I refuse to let that happen anymore. So yes, this is my goodbye letter to you.
